Definition
Determines whether the commitment of the purchase requisition is reduced on a value or quantity basis as a result of the purchase order.
- If you have not set this indicator, the requisition commitment is reduced by the PO on a quantity basis.
Since, for service items, the quantity at item level is always '1', the commitment of the purchase requisition is usually completely cancelled out (reduced to zero) by the first PO.
- If you have selected the indicator, the commitment is reduced in relation to the net value of the order. All purchase orders relating to this requisition are taken into account.
Example of value-based commitment reduction:
In a purchase requisition, you order various services that have different commitment-relevant account assignments:
Services Account Assignment Commitment (Planned)
100 h of service A @ 10 dollars Cost center 1 1000 dollars
100 h of service B @ 20 dollars Cost center 1 2000 dollars
300 h of service B @ 20 dollars Cost center 2 6000 dollars
The planned commitment for cost center 1 is thus 3000 dollars, whereas for cost center 2 it is 6000 dollars.
In the purchase order, 20 hours of service A (200 dollars) and 100 hours of service B (2000 dollars) are now ordered.
After this, the residual commitment of the purchase requisition is as follows :
Account Assignment Residual Commitment
Cost center 1: $2300 = planned commitment - ($200 A + $500 B)
Cost center 2: $4500 = planned commitment - $1500 B
