Definition

The maximum portion size acts as a criterion for generating portions when using the parallel processing technology for the performance-optimized processing of mass data.

The influence of the defined number on the portion size is dependent on the application:

  • Post goods movements

    Specifies after what number of goods movement items a new material documents is generated.

    If no value is specified, the system uses a default value of 100.

    This entry is necessary because if there is a very large number of items then it is possible that the accounting document cannot be posted.

  • Determine actual costs

    Determines the maximum number of orders with their confirmations to be processed in a parallel processed portion.

    If no value is specified, the system uses a default value of 10.

    This entry is necessary because a large amount of data is read in the actual costs determination and kept throughout the entire process in internal tables. If there is a very large number of confirmations to be valuated at the same time, there may be very long runtimes.
