Definition

Standard hierarchy

Use

Before you create a business process, you must create a hierarchical structure in the master data to which the business process is assigned. This structure is known as the "Standard hierarchy" and is given during maintenance and creation of the controlling area. If the hierearchy does not exist at the time of controlling area maintenance, the SAP System creates the highest node.

In the IMG activity Maintain Standard Hierarchy you can extend the hierarchy by e.g. creating further business process groups.

Note

  • You can create as many alternative groups as you wish. Direct assignment to a controlling area ensures that all business processes in a controlling area are grouped together in the standard hierarchy
