The value of the characteristic you allocate here is displayed on the overview screen of the PI sheet.
The characteristic short text is displayed before the value.
Dependencies
You can only allocate characteristics that have been released for use in process instructions in Customizing.

Description of a characteristic of the message category you have selected.
Use
This list aims at helping you to decide which message category you want to use. On the next screen, you must decide on the characteristics you want to add to the process instruction, and thus to the corresponding process message.
Dependencies
You must add all characteristics that are marked as required to the process instruction.

Definition
Description of a message characteristic or the name of a variable.
Use
This column contains all characteristics that are assigned to the process message category you have selected. Using the selection indicator, you specify which characteristics you want to transfer to the process instruction, and thus to the corresponding process message.
If you want to add characteristics to the message that are not assigned to the message category, insert them using the corresponding function.
If you also want to display variable values in the PI sheet, add the variables to the list using the corresponding function.
Note
There is no selection indicator for variables and additional characteristics. If you do not want to add a variable or additional characteristic to the process instruction, you must delete it from the list.
Dependencies
You can only add a characteristic to the list if it has been released for use in process instructions and process messages in Customizing.
You can only use a variable in a process instruction, if it:
- Has been defined in a preceding process instruction
- Is valid for the PI sheet or the entire process order
Note that the system does not check whether a variable is valid or not when you add it to the list.
