Definition

The cost component view indicates which cost components are displayed and passed on to other areas of the SAP System.

Use

The following cost component views are available:

• Cost of goods manufactured
• Cost of goods sold
• Sales and administration costs
• Costs for inventory valuation
• Costs for inventory based on commercial law
• Costs for inventory based on tax law
• Costs for the initial cost split

Procedure

Go into Customizing and define which cost components you want displayed in the various cost component views by selecting various characteristics for each view.

Examples

In the "cost of goods sold" view, all cost components are displayed the costs of which are marked as "cost of goods manufactured" and "sales and administration costs".

Dependencies

For materials management, the view for inventory valuation determines which costs go into inventory costing.
