Definition

Price factor by which the fixed costs arising for the costing line items can be multiplied.

Use

In the case of inventory costing according to tax or commercial law, the fixed costs arising for specific line items can by modified using this price factor. This price factor is specified taking the following objects into account:

• valuation variant of the inventory costing based on tax or commercial law
• selection indicator of the cost estimate

Example

Packaging materials are allocated, in part at least, to the sales and administration costs, which may not be capitalized. In this case, you can mark all the BOM items, or the operations in a routing, which are directly related to packaging with the costing selection indicator. This selection indicator, together with the valuation variant, determines the price factor used in inventory costing.
