Definition

Increase in the quantity of an input component caused by the operation scrap for the operation to which the component is assigned, and to the operation scrap of all subsequent operations.

By contrast, the component scrap quantity specifies the amount of scrap of the input component at the provision stage of the production process. Possible scenarios include a scrap amount for the stock taken from the warehouse, or scrap occurring caused by the transportation of stock to the usage site.

The following equation applies:

total scrap quantity - component scrap.
