Use
Here, fields from available tables (e.g. customer or material master) can be transferred to the field catalog as a characteristic. The technical properties (type, length), the texts and the permitted value sets of the transferred fields are imparted to the characteristic.
The table from which the characteristic is transferred is the origin table of the characteristic. The origin information and the entries in the origin table are used for the automatic derivation of the characteristic value with postings.
Procedure
Examples
The field "Sales district" (BZIRK) was transferred to the field catalog from the sales data of the customer master (table KNVV) and then included in an operating concern.
In the master data of customer XYZ, is entered as area NORTH. If a posting now takes place in this operating concern, the characteristic "Sales district" is automatically provided with the value NORTH from the master record.
