Use

Using this selection, a characteristic is defined that has the same semantics as an already available field. The characteristic contains the same technical properties (data type, length), the same texts (meaning, short texts, title) and the same value set as the referenced field.

Contrary to a characteristic that has been copied from a table, such a defined characteristic does not have origin information.

Procedure

The data element that is connected to the field must be determined. The name of the data element is displayed, for example, with the F1 help under "Technical info". The name of the determined data element is to be entered in the entry field "Data element".
