Documentation
Definition
Indicates the maximum number of background jobs that can be started simultaneously for processing print requests.
Use
The restriction to a maximum number of background jobs for printing print requests ensures that the system is not overloaded in the event of a high number of requests for processing.
You can start up to 10 background jobs simultaneously for processing print requests. Processing in the background is controlled by the background job EHS: Background Printing of Print Requests.
This background job is set up using report RCCGLR_SUBMIT_PRQ_JOBS in the Customizing activity Background Jobs for Processing Print Requests. More specifically, the background job is triggered by the event SAP_START_GLM_PRQ_PRINTING and executed by processes of type BTC (process processes background requests).
Dependencies
- You have scheduled the background jobs for processing print requests with the help of report RCCGLR_SUBMIT_PRQ_JOBS in the Customizing activity Background Jobs for Processing Print Requests. If a background job for processing print requests is to be triggered, the background job EHS: Load Balancing for Print Request Background Processing checks the maximum number of background jobs and sets these jobs to status Active once they have been triggered..
- Beforehand, check how many processes of type BTC (process processes background requests) on the SAP servers are available in the system or are already being used by other applications. The number of processes of type BTC available in the system must not be exceeded by the number of background jobs specified for printing print requests.
- You have specified the maximum number of background jobs for processing print requests. We recommend 10 background jobs, but the number should not be greater than half of the available background jobs of type BTC.
