Definition
Specifies whether a process step in the assignment process has to be released before it can be executed.
Use
Release before execution is recommended depending on the method of the process controller. It is particularly recommended for the Make Assignments method, since this method results in significant changes.
The release of process steps in the Framework for Object Assignment is based on the principle of dual control. Depending on the setting of the release level, the SAP Business Workflow sends the worklist on which the process step to be released operates to one or two processors as a work item in the Business Workplace. You can then set the release of the process step and adjust the execution time for background processing in the user interface for the management of object assignments.
Dependencies
If release is required for a process step, edit the release level and specify the processor who is to release the first or second level, depending on the release level.
Release is only necessary for workflow-driven processing of the assignment process. When a process step is scheduled manually, the system does not check whether release is required.
