Definition

Unique name for a valuation area in Financial Accounting (for example, HGB or US GAAP).

Use

Valuation areas are used in Financial Accounting for closing preparations. They enable you to use different valuation approaches and post to different accounts. You can save the valuation result separately for each document item and use it for other closing operations (such as sorted lists).

Caution

In foreign currency valuation, the saved valuation differences are not used to calculate the realized exchange rate differences.

Dependencies

Example

The local currency is valued according to the lowest value principle according to HGB; the result is transferred to accounts. You also valuate according to US GAAP and key date exchange rates; the result is transferred to other accounts.

Only those accounts required for closing are displayed.
