Definition

If you activate the parameter "Calculate value date" the following method is used to calculate the average value date:
Using a time interval from day A to day B entered in the program, the value date is calculated by taking the:

• Difference betweeen B and X (in days) for all documents and their line items per tax code and multiplying this difference by the corresponding tax amount. The resulting amounts are totalled and then divided by the total tax amounts for all documents;
• The resulting figure represents the weighted number of days relative to day B;
• The absolute value date is then calculated from day B minus the weighted number of days;

Note the following special cases:

• If program selections are limited using posting periods, the upper and lower level of the time interval is automatically calculated by the program;
• If X is smaller than A, X is replaced by (A - 1) (A minus one day)
• If X is greater than or equal to B, X is replaced by B.
