Documentation
Definition
Date under which the document was recorded in Financial Accounting or Cost Accounting.
Use
From the posting date, the system derives a) the fiscal year and b) the period for which the updating of the accounts or cost elements affected by the document is carried out.
At the time of document entry, the system checks whether the specified posting date is allowed on the basis of the permissible posting period.
Note
In the service entry sheet, the posting date serves as a default value for the document date of the material document that is to be created at the time services performed are accepted.
When an entry sheet is accepted, the date is adopted in the material document.
If several entry sheets are accepted simultaneously, the user must decide which date is to be used.
