Documentation
Definition
Date on which the document is entered in Financial Accounting or Cost Accounting.
Use
The system derives the fiscal year and period from the posting date. The fiscal year and period are updated through the accounts/cost elements shown in the document.
At the time of document entry, the system checks whether the posting date specified is valid by reference to the allowed posting period.
Note:
The posting date may vary from both the date of entry (date of input into the system) and the document date (date of creation of original document).
