Definition

Various applications reference a business partner in a defined role. This means you can determine which of the addresses created for the business partner should be used for the application.

Assigning an address type to a BP role affects:

  • Which of the addresses created for a business partner is offered in the value help (address selection).
  • Which of the addresses created for a business partner is used if no address is specifically referred to (address determination).

The following settings are valid:

  • Do not specify address type
    • Address selection
      The system offers all the addresses maintained for a business partner for you to choose from.
    • Address determination
      The business partner's standard address is used.
  • Specify address type
    • Address selection
      The system offers for selection only those addresses used in the appropriate address type; if there is no such usage, all the addresses maintained for the business partner are offered for selection.
    • Address determination
      The standard usage for the specified address type is used; if there is no usage for that address type, the standard address is used.
