Documentation
Definition
Specifies the unit of measure in which the material is ordered.
Supplementary Documentation - BSTME 0001
Procedure
Material with master record:
- The order unit or base unit of measure is taken from the material master record.
Info record exists for relevant vendor and material:
- The order unit is taken from the info record.
Note
If you want to specify a different order unit for a material with a material master record, you must set the indicator "Variable PO unit" in the material master record or info record. Then you can change the order unit for a material until the material is read from the material master record or info record.
Item without material master record:
- You must enter the order unit.
Note
In the case of a material without a material master record, you can still change the order unit after entering the item.
Supplementary Documentation - BSTME 0002
Use
The base unit of measure or the order unit is defaulted from the material master record if this info record refers to a material master record.
This value is adopted in all purchase orders for the relevant material issued to the vendor in question.
Supplementary Documentation - BSTME 0003
Procedure
Enter a value in this field only if you want to use a unit of measure differing from the base unit of measure.
If the field does not contain an entry, the system will assume that the unit of measure is the base unit of measure.
Supplementary Documentation - BSTME 0004
Use
Unit of measure in which the PO item has beenn ordered. You cannot change this unit.
Supplementary Documentation - BSTME 0005
Use

Supplementary Documentation - BSTME 0010
Use
Procedure
Enter an order unit (purchasing) in this field if the item is to be ordered in a different order unit than the one defined in the material master record.
Examples
Dependencies
- You can only enter a different order unit if the indicator "variable order unit" has been set in the purchasing data of the material master record.
- In third-party ordering, the sales unit from the sales document is adopted in the purchase requisition as the order unit.
