Definition

Assign a type to the depreciation area in this field. Assign the type according to the primary purpose of the depreciation area.

The depreciation areas in the standard charts of depreciation all have a depreciation type already. When you create a chart of depreciation, the system takes over this type from the standard reference chart of depreciation. For example, depreciation area 01 is the type "balance sheet valuation."

Use

The area type is especially significant in these cases:

  • If you are using the Investment Management (IM) component, then the depreciation area with type 07 (cost accounting valuation) has a special significance: you are not allowed to settle differences due to capitalization as nonoperating expense in this depreciation area. This is necessary, in order to ensure that all non-capitalized debits in a capital investment measure are recognized in cost accounting.
  • For depreciation areas for calculating transport tax in Russia, you need type 20.
