Definition
The line item identifies the items of a billing document. It is consecutively assigned for each document internally in billing.
Gaps may exist in the consecutive numbering due to special billing rules.
In this case, the number of the line item specified here does not necessarily correspond to the actual line item number in the database.
The reason is that the line item number of a document does not have to be numbered consecutively. However, a consecutively numbered line item enables you to work more easily. This field exists for this reason.
You can find the actual number of the line item in the line item field.
