Definition

Specifies the processing time required to ship all the items in a sales document. The time is calculated in days.

Use

The system calculates the time required to handle each delivery item by adding together the following times in the Sales/Plant view of the material master record:

• Setup time
• Processing time

The setup time is independent of the quantities involved. It may take 1 day, for example, to prepare the loading area for shipping a particular material, regardless of quantity. You specify the processing time by base unit. It is the amount of time it takes to prepare a certain quantity of the material (for example, 1 hour per 50 pieces) for shipping.
