Documentation

Definition

Shows the scrap variance in object or company code currency.

Use

Scrap variances are calculated during variance calculation.

Variance calculation is one of the period closing activities in Cost Object Controlling. The variance calculation function calculates the variances on a cost object and assigns the result to different variance categories so that you can see what caused the variances. One of the variance categories is the scrap variance category.

Requirements

You must have performed variance calculation.

You must have set the Scrap indicator in the variance key so that the system calculates scrap in variance calculation.

You must have set the Scrap variance indicator in the variance variant so that scrap variances are shown in the target cost version to which the variance variant is assigned.

If applicable, you have defined a valuation variant for the valuation of scrap and assigned it to target cost version 0.

Further notes

For detailed information on variance categories, refer to the documentation for Cost Object Controlling under Period-End Closing.
