Definition

Displays the status of follow-on document generation for the trading contract.

Use

The different colors displayed have the following meanings:

  • Green:

The trading contract has been released for the generation of follow-on documents.

  • Red:

The trading contract has not been released for the generation of follow-on documents or has to be released again.

  • Yellow:

The trading contract cannot be released for the generation of follow-on documents as the current status prevents this.

Note: The status of the trading contract is only updated when you save the trading contract.

You can set the default status for newly-created trading contracts in Customizing, using the contract type.

Example

When you create a new trading contract, the traffic light is yellow because you previously made this the default setting in Customizing. Even if you set the application status to "Open" or "Waiting for Approval" at a later time, the traffic light remains yellow, meaning that the trading contract cannot yet be released for the generation of follow-on documents if this is the application status.

After the trading contract has been approved, the traffic light changes to red, meaning that the trading contract must first be released for the generation of follow-on documents before any documents can be created. You can also make Customizing settings to ensure that the trading contract is automatically released for the generation of follow-on documents when the trading contact is approved and saved.

If you make any changes to certain important fields in the trading contract (for example, the sales price) after the trading contract has actually been released for the generation of follow-on documents, the system status is automatically changed to "Change After Release". When this is done, the system generates a log containing all the fields that have been changed, making it necessary for the trading contract to be reapproved. When a field is changed, the traffic light switches to yellow, indicating that the trading contract cannot currently be released for the generation of follow-on documents. The trading contract can only be released after the trading contract has been approved again.

After the trading contract has been released (manually or automatically) for the generation of follow-on documents, the traffic light changes to green.
