Definition
Use
Defines that movements in quantity are updated in certain valuation areas, but not in others.
Procedure
By double-clicking Quantity/value updating, you can select or deselect the valuation areas in which movements in quantity are to be updated. If movements in quantity are not updated identically in all valuation areas, the By valuation area indicator is set automatically.

If you create a new valuation area, and want movements in quantity to be updated in it for materials of this material type, you must select the valuation area as described above.
