Definition
The Component Maintenance Cockpit (CMC) uses either a backwards or a forwards horizon in the range-of-coverage (ROC) calculation. It always considers the lower of the two.
For the Periods backward field you have two possibilities:
- You trigger report Time horizon to calculate periods backwards and after analyzing the results, you enter the value into the periods backward field.
- You determine a number of days in the past that the system should consider. This method requires an extremely sophisticated manual analyses of historic values, because all of the different possible components may have a variety of independent requirement patterns.
The CMC uses the manual Periods forward horizon to determine which receipts it should take into account when determining ROC as well as calculating the priority value in an open-loop scenario. The system determines the receipts from purchase orders, purchase requisitions, and work in progress. You activate inclusion of these receipts in Customizing of the CMC Profile.
Procedure
Periods Backward
- Enter the value in the Periods backward field that you get from the report. Note that you must regularly trigger the ROC report. You do this from the SAP Easy Access Menu under Logistics > Plant Maintenance > Maintenance Processing or Logistics > Customer Service > Service Processing, then Rotables Management > Component Maintenance Cockpit > LIS Report for CMC; or
- Enter a value in the Periods backward field to use manual detemination of the backwards horizon.
Periods Forward
Enter a value in the Periods forward field that sets how many days in the future the CMC searches for receipts (purchase orders, purchase requisitions, work in progress).
