Definition

Identifies a group of storage locations or valuation types uniquely.

For identification purposes you can hold storage locations or valuation types in inventory groups according to the condition of the rotable parts (such as, a serviceable or an unserviceable group, and so on). The Component Maintenance Cockpit (CMC) uses the parameters that you define for these groups when calculating the range of coverage (ROC), unless you have created more precise parameters on FFF class or profile level.

You can only assign a storage location or a valuation type to one inventory group.

This function is only required if you want to use storage locations and valuation types in the CMC calculations.

Batches do not require inventory groups.
