Definition

Controls whether the activity type can be used as an account assignment object for actual postings.

Use

If this indicator is selected, actual primary costs can be assigned directly to the activity type of a cost center.

You can use an activity type as an account assignment object in the following application areas:

  • Personnel costs for Payroll Accounting

The sender activity type that you entered in the time sheet or for time recording in Time Management (PT) can be passed on to Payroll Accounting (PY) for account assignment of the personnel costs.

  • Depreciation postings on the activity type in Asset Accounting

For periodic postings of depreciation costs in the general ledger, you can assign costs to the activity type stored in the asset master data in addition to cost centers and orders.

In the same way, you can assign costs directly to activity types with postings in Financial Accounting.

In Controlling, you can repost line items for activity types.

Note that the costs assigned to the activity types are ignored during a subsequent distribution

Dependencies

  • The indicator can only be set if Cost Center Accounting is active.
  • Direct account assignment of activity types directly affects actual cost splitting. Once you have directly assigned an activity type, the first splitting step during actual cost splitting (splitting by target costs) is no longer executed. The system only splits the costs into fixed and variable components. In the second splitting step, the activity-independent costs are allocated to the directly assigned activity types.
  • If the indicator is set, the user is responsible for allocating activity-dependent and independent costs. In this case the system assumes that the costs assigned directly to the activity types were assigned correctly and completely.
