Documentation
Definition
Period that divides the life cycle of the object for which WIP calculation or results analysis is to be performed into open and closed periods.
Use
The cutoff period prevents the results analysis data (such as work in process or reserves for unrealized costs) that was calculated in earlier periods from being overwritten the next time results analysis or WIP calculation is performed.
The results analysis data calculated up to and including the cutoff period is not changed by the current results analysis or WIP calculation run.
The results analysis data in later periods is overwritten by the current results analysis or WIP calculation run.
Dependencies
This means that results analysis data in earlier periods (for which postings may have been generated in Financial Accounting) is not changed. Changes in the planned and actual data in earlier periods are included in results analysis or WIP calculation in the first open period.
