Definition
Determines whether the settlement run is to be carried out as advance interim settlement or as normal settlement.
Use
Interim settlement accounting involves determining the volume of business done with the vendor at a point in time prior to the expiration of the validity period of the selected condition records, allowing you to generate rebate income in advance of the due date.
The relevant condition records retain the status "active" and are subject to renewed settlement accounting at the end of the validity period. Any rebates paid in advance in this way are then deducted from the total amount calculated as being due for the period as a whole.
You choose the settlement date in the same way as you would in the event of normal settlement accounting for the condition record.
Example
You wish to carry out settlement accounting based on the cumulative vendor business volume as at April 15, although the rebate arrangement in fact stipulates periodic settlement at the end of each month.
As the settlement date, enter April 30, and select Interim settlement.
