Definition

Beds that are exclusively used for the intensive care treatment of patients. Intensive care beds also include acute sickness beds with monitoring equipment, but not recovery beds. For subsidized hospitals, only those intensive care beds that are allowed as such according to the hospital strategic plan or subsidy notification are to be entered.
Beds of a separate "Intensive care medicine" department are assigned to the departments in accordance with their use.
You should enter the beds as an annual average value.
They are evaluated in hospital statistics pursuant to KHStatV SA20 (Germany).
