Definition
Net settled income from the condition record, that is, income from the condition record less income already received (rom previous settlements for example).
In final settlement accounting with regard to a condition requiring periodic settlement, it is particularly important that income from previous interim settlements be offset against the overall amount payable.
You can obtain details on the business volume data and settled income using the function "Standard analyses" for "subsequent settlement" in the Logistics Information System.
Example
Assume a rebate arrangement is valid from 01.01. until 12.31. of a particular year.
If settlement with regard to this arrangement is carried out periodically (say each quarter) you can agree on a condition requiring payment of a rebate amounting to 3% of the business volume placed with the vendor over each quarter-year period.
- 1st. Quarter business volume $20,000, $600 income from int. settlement
- 2nd. Quarter business volume $30,000, $900 income from int. settlement
- 3rd. Quarter business volume $20,000, $600 income from int. settlement
- 4th. Quarter business volume $30,000, $900 income from int. settlement
Assume a condition requiring payment of a rebate amounting to 5% payable at the time of final settlement on an annual business volume in excess of $75,000 has been agreed. According to the above figures, this results in a net income of $2,000 still to be settled ($5,000 less the $3,000 already paid).
