Use

In this workstep, you set the parameters for the sequence planning of the planned orders.

Procedure Profile

Hear you define the planning procedure with which the system determines the sequence of the planned orders within the planning period. The following procedures are available:

  • External optimization procedure (via the interface PP-POI)

The system determines the sequence via the sequence number sent to it via the interface.

  • FIFO procedure (First In/First Out)

The system first determines the sequence of the sales orders on the basis of the sales order number and the sales order item. It then determines the sequence of the make-to-stock orders on the basis of the planned order number. Sales orders thus have higher priority.

  • Manual dispatching/scheduling

You insert the orders manually in the sequence schedule via dialog fields or using drag and drop.

  • Customer exit/Business Add-In (BAdI)

You can use the customer exit LASP0101 or the BAdI SP_PLDORD_SEQUENCING (BAdI for Sequence Planning of Planned Orders) in the enhancement spot ES_LASP_SEQUENCE_PLANNING to specify your own scheduling sequence.

  • Production smoothing (Heijunka)

The system attempts to distribute the production volume evenly and achieve optimal mixing of the products.

Planning Profile

Here you define the length of the planning period and specify the procedure profile. The planning period is the period over which the system determines the sequence of the planned orders in each case. You can plan the sequence over several days or shifts or according to a planning calendar. The system proceeds as follows:

  1. It first determines the planned orders that have to be scheduled in the planning period on the basis of the basic start date.
  2. Then it establishes the sequence of these planned orders for the planning period according to the procedure specified in the procedure profile.

Fixing

  • If you choose Repeated Automatic Dispatching Active, the system reschedules the planned orders each time the Sequencing function is invoked.
  • If you set the Repeated Dispatching Not Active indicator, the planned orders lying between the start of the period of examination and the current period are fixed.

If planned orders are to be fixed beyond the current period, you can specify the number of fixed planning periods. The system does not automaticallly schedule the planned orders in this timeframe.

Using the medium-term planning horizon, you can limit the automatic dispatching of the planned orders to a certain number of planning periods.

You can use the Align Horizon with Current Date indicator to specify that the determination of the horizons and periods is to take place on the basis of the current date and not on the basis of the period of examination that you specify on the initial screen of the sequence planning board.

Default Profile of Plant

For each plant, you can specify a default profile that is used by the system on the initial screen for Sequencing if no other profile is specified.

If you wish to carry out planning using different settings, you can change the default profile on the initial screen.

With the component Line Design, you can insert buffers to change the sequence between line segments and then specify different procedures for individual line segments. In this case, the procedures for the creation of sequences specified there are used.
