Use

In this IMG activity, you activate tables containing asset master data fields that are required in individual countries only.

After you activate the tables, you determine the appearance and set-up of the screen layout in which you want to include the country-specific fields. For example, you add tab pages to store additional data.

Note: If required, create a country-specific asset class (see Define Asset Classes).

Requirements

Standard settings

The standard system comes with additional tables for country-specific asset master data, for example, in Russia and Japan. You cannot add any tables of your own.

Constraints

The following functions do not support the fields that you activate here:

Activities

Example

Assume that you are in Russia, and you want to create asset master data for vehicles. Since vehicles are liable to transport tax, and since you are required to file detailed transport tax returns each year, you need to store such details about each vehicle, such as the taxable horsepower, tax exemptions, and license plate numbers.

First, in this IMG activity, you activate the tables with general data and transport tax data for Russia.

You then customize the asset classes and the screen layouts as follows:

Specify Chart-of-Dep.-Dependent Screen Layout/Acct Assignment    Assign the new screen layout rule to the new asset class.

Screen Layout

  1. In the IMG activity Specify Tab Layout for Asset Master Record, subactivity Define Tab Layout for Asset Master Data, copy the standard layout G1RU (Standard Layout for Russia).

    This layout contains a tab page with the Russian data.

  2. To assign your country-specific tab layout to country-specific asset classes, perform the following steps in the subactivity Assign Tab Layouts to Asset Classes:
    1. Select the asset class that you want to assign your new layout to and double-click General Assignment of Layout.
    2. Assign the new tab layout to the appropriate transaction group, for example, Asset Accountant.
      To perform this assignment, in the line for the required transaction group, select your tab layout in the Tab Layout column.
  3. To determine the status of the fields in the asset master record, create your own screen layout, by choosing the subactivity Create Screen Layout Rules for Asset Master Record in the IMG activity Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data.
  4. To determine which master data fields appear in your screen layout, and which are mandatory and optional fields, call the subactivity Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data in the IMG activity Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data, -> Define Screen Layout for Asset Master Data.
    1. Select the screen layout that you created in the IMG activity Create Screen Layout Rules for Asset Master Record above, and double-click Logical Field Groups.
    2. To determine which fields in your screen group are required and optional, select the required logical fields groups (201 and 202 in this example), and double-click Field Group Rules.
    3. Set each of the field groups to Required or Optional, andselect Subno (Entry allowed in asset subnumber).
