Use
In this Customizing activity, you specify physical commodities. Physical commodities represent interchangeable goods with a specific quality that are traded on exchanges of OTC markets. Physical commodities are used as follows:
- A physical commodity is specified as a central entity that is taken as a basis for the integration of Logistics with Treasury and Risk Management.
- For the definition of a derivative contract specification a physical commodity is used to describe the traded good.
- For the determination of a material stock exposure in Logistics, the physical commodity is used for dividing batches into the respective commodities.
- In Treasury and Risk Management the physical commodity is uniquely assigned to an abstract commodity as well as to all of its subordinated real commodities.
For each physical commodity a basis measure of unit is specified. All quantities that are defined with relation to the physical commodity must be convertible to this measure of unit.
