In the Warehouse Management system, there is a default warehouse number delivered with the standard version. The entries for this organizational unit are usually used for creating prototypes. If you require several warehouse numbers for testing purposes or because of your company or organizational structure, it is often useful to copy an existing organizational unit.

In the SAP System, you can use the organizational unit copier for this purpose.

Notes

This copy program takes all transferrable Customizing tables into account whose keys contain the warehouse number.
Master data tables, such as storage bins, are not considered.

Activities

  • Decide which orgainzational units (warehouse numbers) you want to copy.
  • Copy the respective warehouse numbers using the organizational unit copier (Transaction EC09).

    The activities required for copying are described under Enterprise Structure -> Copy Functions.

  • Maintain the number range data for the new warehouse numbers.
  • Include the new warehouse numbers in your authorization concept.
  • If you are using Inventory Management, activate the relevant plants/storage locations in which you want to use the new warehouse number.
