In the Warehouse Management System (WMS) you can develop your own putaway strategy using an SAP user exit.
You can use existing checks and updates from the following putaway strategies:
- Paletts
- Bulk storage area
by combining the standard strategies with your own putaway strategy.
Standard settings
The SAP user exit MWMTO003 "Own putaway" is available for the WM area (putaway strategy).
Further user exits of the WMS are grouped together in the chapter "Tools - Develop user exits for Warehouse Management".
Activities
- Create the user exit
For this purpose, create either a new project or use an existing project.
- Activate the project
The user exit only becomes effective if you activate it.
- Activate the user exit in the putaway control parameters of the respective storage type (field user_exit_active).
Further notes
User exits, in contrast to modifications, are not affected by releases because they are not written in SAP original code but in a name area that is reserved for the customer.
The general procedure for the creation of user exits is described in the user exit transaction under the menu path "Utilities - Online manual".
Each user exit is documented. You will find this documentation if you press the pushbutton "SAP doc." in the user exit transaction.
