If you manage materials that are to be handled in batches and classify these materials in the central system, then you have the option of transferring the classification data (classes, characteristics and valuation) to the decentralized (WM) system. You can use this feature, for example, if you want to use general batch search for picks in the WM system.

In this context, the central system is the leading system for the maintenance of the classes and characteristics. This means, that these objects should only be created and changed in the ERP system so that they can subsequently be transferred to the WM system through distribution.

The following objects are distributed:

  • Batch class distribution is carried out using message type CLSMAS. The class type is used as a filter object based on the generation of the distribution model. In this case, this is class type 023 for batch classification.
  • Batch characteristics distribution is carried out using message type CHRMAS. No filter object can be used for the distribution model.
  • Batch classification distribution is carried out using message type CLFMAS. The class type is used as a filter object based on the generation of the distribution model. In this case, this is class type 023 for batch classification.

Activities

  • So that the material master changes can be distributed, you must schedule a report that evaluates the change pointers and generates the IDocs. To schedule the report, go to ALE Customizing and choose Distribution (ALE) -> Scheduling Periodic Processing -> Scheduling IDoc Creation from Change Pointers.
  • Check within ALE if further activities such as serialized distribution are still necessary.
  • Maintain the distribution model for the new message type you have created. Maintain this message together with all other distribution objects when the distribution model is generated.
