Postings that are initiated in the WMS and result in a stock balance change in the warehouse, must be reported to Inventory Management. You can carry out the following postings in the WMS that change the stock situation:
- Converting quants
- Converting the stock category between quality inspection stock, blocked stock and unrestricted-use stock
- Converting special stock from consignment stock to own stock and back (only if the vendor master exists in the decentralized system)
- Converting special stock from sales order stock to own stock
- Converting special stock from project stock to own stock
- Transferring stock between two storage locations or plants if stock transfers are initiated when stock is moved between storage types in the warehouse
- Clearing stock differences
Goods movement distribution
The process of reporting these postings to Inventory Management in the central system is controlled via the plant/storage location. If the plant/storage location for the quants concerned refer to the central ERP system, the goods movement is distributed based on the plant/storage location combination which is defined as the filter object for the goods movement.

Standard settings
Distribution is carried out using BAPI GoodsMovement.CreateFromData (Method CreateFromData for object typeBUS2017 = GoodsMovement). Communication is asynchronous and takes place using the IDoc of message type MBGMCR generated from the BAPI.

Activities
- You must maintain the distribution model for method GoodsMovement.CreateFromData,
If the central system (ERP system) is an SAP system, the distribution model is maintained in the central system and distributed to the decentralized WMS. In this case, you are not required to maintain the model for this method.
If the central system (ERP system) is a non-SAP system, you must maintain this method together with all other distribution objects when the distribution model is generated.
