Stock postings that include a storage location that points to a decentralized WMS are not executed initially in Inventory Management of the ERP system. In Inventory Management, no stock changes are posted and no document items are created. Instead, inbound and outbound deliveries are created, depending on the movement type involved (debit/credit indicator), and transmitted to the decentralized WMS. These deliveries require certain data that cannot be entered through the stock posting. In this section, you can define these standard values for deliveries.
You can also set the serial number function and change management for deliveries.
At the warehouse number level, you define the following parameters:
- Inbound deliveries: Vendor
- Outbound deliveries: Ship-to party, sales organization, shipping point, distribution channel, and division.
Through the reference movement type, you can override standard values that were defined at the warehouse number level. These include:
- Inbound deliveries: Vendor
- Outbound deliveries: Ship-to party
Through the delivery type, you control at the reference movement type level whether an inbound or an outbound delivery is to be generated. In the standard system, delivery type DIG is provided for inbound deliveries and DOG for outbound deliveries.

Recommendation
Activities
- Decide which standard values you require for creating deliveries.
- Define the standard values required for supplying the deliveries at the warehouse number level and (if required) at the reference movement type level.
- If you have defined your own IM movement types that initiate postings in a decentralized WMS, it is necessary that you assign these to the WM movement type. You execute this assignment through the reference movement type.
