Description

Table OIGT001L

The intransit storage location is a means of representing stock in the system which is being transported on a vehicle. It is used to manage and control stock after it has left the loading plant and while it is in transit.

At loading confirmation, the stock is transferred from the loading storage location to the intransit storage location but remains under the control and ownership of the delivering plant.

Every subsequent transaction in TD that includes a goods movement results in an update in the intransit store location. This makes it easier to keep track of intransit goods, as material gains or losses between loading confirmation and delivery confirmation can be posted.

In this table you must define an intransit storage location for each loading plant. You specify which storage locations are available for intransit assignment by checking the 'intransit assignment' checkbox.

You can also specify whether or not a storage location can hold negative stock amounts by checking the 'negative stocks' checkbox.

The use of the intransit storage location is determined by the bulk shipment type. You define bulk shipment types in Customizing for the Industry Solution Oil & Gas (Downstream) by choosing TD (Transportation and Distribution) -> TD Bulk Shipment -> Define Bulk Shipment Type.
