The following Customizing settings are necessary for the implementation of production lot planning:
Engineering Change Management for WBS BOMs
To be able to manage changes to BOMs of the production lot (WBS BOM) with engineering change management, you must ensure that the profile of engineering change management is also valid for the WBS BOM. Check whether the WBS BOM is entered in the details screen of the object type profile.
Maintain Planning Strategy for Production Lot Planning
- In the first step, you check the requirements classes:
- The requirements class 091 is offered as the default setting for production lot planning with individual project stock.
- The requirements class 092 is offered as the default setting for production lot planning with collective stock.
- In the next step, you check the requirements types:
- The requirements type KSB1 (for requirements class 091) is offered as the default setting for production lot planning with individual project stock.
- The requirements type KSB2 (for requirements class 092) is offered as the default setting for production lot planning with collective stock.
- You define the planning strategy
Enter the number for the planning strategy and a description, then assign the planning strategy.
Availability Check
To be able to carry out an availability check for SD orders and SD deliveries for materials of production lots that remain in the individual project stock of the WBS element, you have to check the following settings:
- Check the checking rule for SD orders and SD deliveries.
- The checking rule AQ (SD order, sales order stock) is the default setting for SD orders with the special stock indicator Q (individual project stock).
- The checking rule BQ (SD delivery, individual project stock) is the default setting for SD deliveries.
- Check the control of the availability check
The combinations 01/AQ, 02/AQ, 01/BQ, 02/BQ and CH/AQ, CH/BQ are offered in the standard system.
Sales and Operations Planning
To be able to carry out sales and operations planning, you must maintain the following settings:
- You create an info structure for WBS elements.
- You define a planning type for the info structure. You can plan production quantities with the planning type.
- In the IMG activity Parameters for info structures, you set the Transfer to Demand Management indicator for your info structure in the details screen of the table. This enables you to transfer the planned quantities with account assignment to Demand Management using user exits.
Material Requirements Planning
If the WBS BOM is to be used for materials requirements planning in the planning run, you set the Procedure with sales order BOM/WBS BOM active indicator in the IMG activity Define BOM explosion control.
Project System
In Customizing for Project System, you can define a project profile, which you require when creating the production lot number. You can, however, also work with the standard project profile.
Product Cost Controlling for Production Lots
You should check the following settings for the production lot costing:
- Check the costing variant PPC5. This is offered as the default setting for production lot costing.
- Check the costing type. Costing type 40 is the default setting. This costing type is assigned to the costing variant PPC5.
