This section describes the interface for linking external optimization systems with which production planning data is to be exchanged.

You use the Production Optimization Interface (POI) to send data (such as planned orders, process orders, resources) via ALE to an external optimization system (data download) where the data is optimized and transferred back to the SAP R/3 System (data upload).

The optimization program can create, change, or delete planned orders or process orders as a result of optimization. It may also change quantities or dates.

Requirements

To ensure that the interface functions properly, you must make various settings.
