In this IMG activity you maintain alternative cost centers for Payroll Accounting.
In Payroll Accounting, the costs incurred are normally debited on the originating cost center or job. If postings can no longer be made to the cost center or job at the time of settlement, postings are made to the master cost center of the employee instead, and this account assignment change is recorded in the settlement log.
Payroll Accounting will terminate if it is not possible to post to a master cost center. Therefore, you can store an alternative cost center here for each company code. This alternative cost center is then assigned instead of master cost centers that you cannot post to.
By means of the messages in the settlement log, you can take suitable measures after the settlement to transfer the costs from the alternative cost center to the originating cost center in CO.
