In this step you define long text templates and allocate these templates to certain asset classes. By means of these templates, the system then supports the long text entry when you create a fixed asset belonging to the class. Per asset class, you can store one template for all long texts of an asset respectively (general specifications, technical specifications and so on).

You can define the templates in the standard text transaction in the system (Main menu: Tools -> Word processing -> Standard text). Use "FIAA" as text ID. Also consider the following when entering the template in the SAPscript editor:

  • The system recognizes blank lines for the later entry of individual text passages by means of a "/" in the tag column.
  • The system recognizes entries which should not be later overwritten during long text maintenance because they have a format other than "/" entered in the tag column.

Requirements

You must have already created asset classes.

Standard settings

SAP delivers an example template (EXAMPLE_SAP).

Activities

  1. Specify the asset classes to which you want to allocate templates.
  2. Allocate a corresponding template to these asset classes per asset long text.
