In this step you can maintain matchcodes for standard project definitions and standard work breakdown structures (standard WBS).

Before maintaining your matchcodes, you should read the following sections for further information.

    This section describes how to create a matchcode in the ABAP/4 Dictionary.

    This section describes how to work with the matchcode utility. Use it to set up the data for matchcodes already in the system.

Further notes

Matchcode maintenance requires detailed technical knowledge of the ABAP/4 Dictionary. Please leave maintenance to your system administrator.

You should also note that large numbers of matchcodes can negatively influence system performance. Check which matchcodes you need for area and deactivate all those you do not want to use.

Matchcodes are valid in every client.

Standard settings

SAP has defined the following matchcodes for locating a standard WBS:

  • Matchcode with ID "S" allows you to search by description

Activities

  1. Check whether the matchcodes SAP has predefined meet your needs.
  2. Add further matchcode IDs to existing matchcode objects or create new matchcodes, if necessary.
