In this step, you can make a field selection for the screens in a standard network.

All screens for which field selection is possible are grouped together in individual screen groups:

  • Activity overviews
  • Standard network header
  • Activity detail screens
  • Component overview
  • Component detail screens
  • PRT overview
  • PRT detail screens

For each screen group, so-called "modifiable" and "influencing" fields can be defined:

  • For the modifiable fields, you use indicators to determine how individual fields are displayed on the screen:
    • Field is ready for input (default setting)
    • Field requires an entry (required entry)
    • Field is only displayed
    • Field is hidden
    • Field is highlighted

For example, if you specify that the work center field requires an entry for list and detail screens in network confirmation, then you must enter a work center every time you make a confirmation.

  • For the influencing fields, you use a value to specify how the modifiable field is displayed on the screen. For example, you can specify that the work center is a required entry for a particular order type.

Notes

The settings of the field selection can be transported and are retained during the release upgrades.

If, due to a change of an influencing field, a modified field becomes mandatory, that is, it becomes a required entry, the system does not check whether this field is filled in all existing objects.

If you copy a standard network in a network, the field selection of the standard network is ignored.

You can display the technical names of the fields by choosing the menu options Edit -> Other view.

Standard settings

No standard settings are available for field selection.

The modifiable and influencing fields are predefined for each screen group and cannot be extended.

Proceed as follows to define a field selection.

You can define a field selection in several ways

You maintain the indicators for modifiable fields regardless of an influencing value

  1. Position the cursor on a screen group.
  2. Click on Modifiable.

All fields that can be modified for this screen group are displayed on the screen.

  3. Set the indicators and save your entries.

You maintain an influencing value for an influencing field and then the indicators for the modifiable fields

  1. Position the cursor on a screen group.
  2. Click on Influencing.

All fields for which you can maintain influencing values are displayed on the screen.

  3. Double-click on the influencing field for which you want to maintain a value.

All fields that can be modified for the influencing value are displayed on the screen.

  4. Maintain a value in field Influencing value and the corresponding indicators for the modifiable fields.
  5. Press ENTER.

    The entries are transferred.

  6. Maintain further values for the influencing field or choose additional fields with Influencing.
  7. Save your entries.

You maintain an indicator for a modifiable field and determine the values of its influencing fields

  1. Position the cursor on a screen group.
  2. Click on Modifiable.

All fields that can be modified for this screen group are displayed on the screen.

  3. Double-click on the modifiable field for which you want to maintain influencing values.

  4. Position the cursor on an influencing field for which you want to store a value and choose New values.

A dialog box is displayed on the screen.

  5. Maintain a value and indicator for the influencing field and press Continue.

    The values are transferred.

  6. Save your entries.
