Every trip entered is stored in the system under a trip number. Travel Management offers two options for assigning trip numbers:
- internal number assignment
During internal number assignment, the system assigns the trip numbers.
- external number assignment
During external number assignment, the employees assign the trip numbers.
In this IMG activity, you define the number ranges for trip number assignment for every personnel area and the corresponding number intervals
Recommendation
SAP recommends that you only use internal trip number assignment.
Activities
- Internal Number Range
- Set up an internal number range for every personnel area under the number range number 01 (mandatory assignment)
- External Number Range
- Set up an internal number range and an external number range under the number range number 02 (mandatory assignment).
Caution
Other number range assignments are not allowed.
Additional Note
Make sure that the number intervals of the number ranges do not overlap for different personnel areas, since problems can occur if an employee changes personnel area.
Notes for transport
You transport number range objects as follows:
Choose Interval -> Transport in the accounting document Number Range screen.
All intervals for the selected number range object are deleted in the target system first. After the import, only the intervals you export are present. The number statuses are imported with their values at the time of export.
Dependent tables are not transported or converted.
