In this step, you can carry out two activities:

  1. Under Procedure for Recording Notes, you can specify how the editor should react when notes are changed. You can specify whether existing notes are to be protected from being changed (value 1 ).
  2. Under Notes for Infotypes, you can define how notes are formatted for editor and print. This involves making two entries each for style and form for every possible combination of object type, infotype, and subtype. One entry is for screen output, the other for printout.

Example

Notes for Infotypes: for the combination "All object types" / "Relationship"/ "is attended by", the style HR_TEM1 and the form HR_TEM_NOTE_DISP are defined for screen output and the style HR_TEM1 and the form HR_TEM_NOTE_PRN for the printout.

Standard settings

  1. Procedure for Recording Notes: In the standard system, existing notes are protected from change (value 1).
  2. Notes for infotypes: The standard system contains entries for which the note function is possible. You should not change or delete these entries.

Recommendation

  1. Procedure for Recording Notes: check that the value is set to 1 if you want to protect existing notes.
  2. Notes for Infotypes: check to ensure that the styles and forms you require are available.

You should not change the entries delivered by SAP.

Activities

  1. If necessary, enter the required styles and forms for the individual entries of the note function for your customer-specific object types.
  2. If necessary, create your own styles and forms.
  3. Specify how you want the note editor to react.
