Use
In this IMG activity, you can define technical categories for business partners.
The partner role technical category identifies (normally in terms of database table and account group) the technical type of the object used to record the business partner to which the current partner role refers.
You can assign a number of technical categories to one partner role.
Only certain types of customer business partner are compatible with business location sales reporting in the Sales Information System (SIS). This is due to the way in which the customer business partner is modelled in the SIS.
As the partner role technical category is used to define the type of customer business partner accurately, you can set a flag to indicate whether the business partner type is compatible with business location reporting in the SIS.
The following Data Dictionary (DDIC) tables are supported:
- KNA1 for customer master data. If you use this table, you must specify a customer account group.
- LFA1 for vendor master data. If you use this table, you must specify a vendor account group.
- USR02 for user data

Example
Sales to business partners that perform the role of operator of petroleum fuels at all company-owned locations are to be recorded in the Sales Information System (SIS).
By restricting the technical categories available for the role operator of fuels to those that are compatible with SIS reporting, the system administrator is able to prevent allocation of business partners for which no SIS data should be recorded.
