Use
Following treatment, employees must be able to access the patient data for various periods of time, depending on their roles; a physician normally requires a longer period of time for follow-up documentation than a member of the nursing staff. These differing access authorizations are summarized under the term authorization category. When assigning authorization categories to OUs you determine how many days after discharge from the OU the authorization category should remain. You assign these authorization categories to your employees. Internally, the user ID is used for the authorization check.
