You only have to maintain this table as a system administrator if the users in your facility are not authorized to install desktop components and administration sets up work stations. You can define entries for all installable desktop components here.
Process
If a desktop component, such as graphic layout processing for parameterized medical document categories, is called but is not installed, the installation program is oriented towards the entries of this table:
- Automatic Installation from SAP Table
If there is no entry for the relevant desktop component in this table, the program tries to install the desktop component from the SAP system.
- No Automatic Installation
If the missing desktop component is entered and "Exists" is selected for it, a new installation does not occur. The program assumes that an installation is not required.
- Installation from Customer's Installation Directory
If the missing desktop component is entered, "Exists" is not selected and an installation directory has been entered under "Program", the installation program tries to find and start a set-up program in the specified directory. If the user has the relevant installation rights, the installation of the component then takes place on the local PC from this directory.
This type of procedure is useful if the installation should not use the SAP table due to time restrictions.
If you use this procedure you should note that each component must be in its own directory since the installation program is normally only entitled setup.exe.
Standard settings
The table is empty and desktop components can be automatically installed on work stations.

Further notes
If you use report RN2LN210 to transfer programs from the database to a network directory and store them there unzipped, this will slightly improve the performance of the installation because there is no need to download and unzip for each work station.
